Kelley Andrews-Edwards

Kelley Andrews-Edwards is a native Charlestonian with over ten years’ experience working in the field of family law. Kelley specializes in complex divorce and child custody matters, including complex litigation and appellate practice. She is a seasoned trial attorney and has successfully litigated and appealed family court matters, contributing to the growing and evolving body of South Carolina family law. Her most recent appeal resulted in a landmark decision by the South Carolina Court of Appeals on the modification of alimony upon retirement.

 

Kelley is a fierce and passionate advocate for her clients whose primary goal is to de-escalate and resolve conflict. She practices with both compassion and reason, emphasizing the importance of candor and setting client expectations throughout all phases of litigation. 

 

Kelley began her undergraduate education as an International Relations major at the University of St. Andrews in St. Andrews, Scotland. She returned to the US two years later to her complete her undergraduate degree at the University of South Carolina, where she graduated summa cum laude in 2010.

 

Kelley relocated to Chicago, Illinois in 2011 when she was accepted to Northwestern School of Law’s prestigious JD-LLM program in international human rights.  During her four years at Northwestern, Kelley studied and worked around the world advancing and promoting international human rights.  She worked as a human rights reporter in Phnom Phen, Cambodia, for the counterterrorism division of Human Rights Watch in Washington, DC, and for the United Nations High Commissioner of Human Rights in Geneva, Switzerland.

 

In 2015, Kelley graduated with honors from Northwestern School of Law with a Juris Doctorate and Master of Laws in International Human Rights. She returned to her hometown of Charleston where she practiced exclusively in the area of family law before joining The Andrews Law Firm.
